    Job Title: Ropes Course Counselor - Overnight Camp

    Ropes Course Counselor - Overnight Camp at Girl Scouts of Western New York

    About the Job:

    This is a seasonal role that requires living on-site at our summer resident camp in New York. As a ropes course counselor, you will assist in implementing safe and effective usage of the ropes course elements and equipment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Attend pre-season mandatory training and successfully demonstrate required skills
    • Develop professional goals to support GSWNY's mission and camp goals
    • Foster a safe environment by following GSUSA, ACCT, ACA, and NYSDOH standards
    • Teach games, initiative activities, and rope course procedures to participants
    • Assist in developing activity progressions for campers
    • Report any incidents or accidents to supervisors
    • Maintain daily records of equipment and perform daily inspections
    • Participate in all aspects of camp life, including pre-camp, open house, and post-camp

    Requirements:

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
    • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
    • Professionalism and ability to articulate organizational mission
    • Diversity awareness and ability to interact with diverse populations
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Stress management and adaptability under pressure
    • Lifting 35 pounds and maintaining constant supervision
    • Current certification in Responding to Emergencies and CPR
