• Function above the standard as the third level in the surgical technologist career ladder.
• Expertise across multiple service lines.
• Participate in in-service and project work, providing input in initiatives for clinical programmatic change.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient area for optimal patient care.
• Utilize aseptic surgical techniques for preparation of materials and equipment.
• Assist in patient safety measures and proper positioning.
• Handle surgical specimens and medications with precision.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and emergency preparedness.
• Assist in patient care, teaching, and emotional support.
• Participate in staff meetings and educational programs.
• Provide coverage for breaks and lunches.

Skills, Abilities & Competencies:

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anesthesia procedures.
• Understanding of aseptic technique and infection control policies.
• Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and awareness of patient safety.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the operating/procedure room.

Preferred Experience:

• Associate degree strongly preferred.
• 5 years' experience as Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting.
• Experience in Cardio Vascular procedures and leadership roles.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
