    Overview

    Job Purpose

    The Administrator, Systems Engineering is responsible for supporting and maintaining availability and high-performance in mixed UNIX and Windows development, non-production, and production environments.

    Additionally, the Administrator is responsible for software builds and releases, which includes the design, development, and support of builds, scripts, and installation procedures, such as source code control and issue tracking.

    This position requires understanding of both software development and operations and how to identify manual processes and automate them using various automation tools.

    This individual works as part of a results-oriented, service-delivery team and supports other engineering and operations teams.

    Additionally, the Administrator performs root cause analysis of problems, identifies areas for process improvement, remediates issues, and executes tasks to deliver on project-based initiatives.

    Responsibilities
    Assist in the design, planning and implementation of server and SDLC solutions
    Tune systems for maximum available performance
    Evaluate, test, and integrate new operating system versions, drivers, and patches
    Provide technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutions
    Provide support to, and coordinate with, developers, operations staff, release engineers, and end-users
    Educate and mentor team members and operations staff
    Train with senior team members to learn the ICE Infrastructure
    Participate as a resource for project driven initiatives
    Identification and automation of manual tasks using scripting and application development
    Investigate and adopt new technologies/tools as needs arise
    Provide first level support for all server related issues across the Enterprise in a 24/7 environment
    Configure Jenkins services for both builds and deployments
    Administer and troubleshoot build and deployment issues
    Takes initiative, is detail-oriented, and demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    Knowledge and Experience
    Beginner-level experience in any one of the below:

    Build automation and configuration management
    Git/Bitbucket
    Jenkins/Maven/Gradle
    Linux (Redhat variants preferred) and Windows operating systems
    API Endpoints
    Scripting languages, such as Bash, Ruby, Groovy, Powershell, Python
    Jira, Service Now

    Top-tier critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    Ability to work in a service-oriented team environment
    Project Management, organization, and time management skills
    Customer focused, and dedicated to the best possible user experience
    Communicate effectively with both technical and business resources
    Speak fluent English
    Preferred
    Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering
    Exposure to AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies
    Schedule
    This role offers work from home flexibility of up to 2 days per week.
