**Empirical Internship Program Overview:**

The empirical internship program is a best-in-class experience that provides students with the unique opportunity to work in a leading edge, manufacturing technology company.

This temporary summer position lasts approximately 10-12 weeks and allows interns to actively contribute to the manufacturing organization and build a comprehensive understanding of their desired field.

Throughout the internship, you will have the chance to work with our internal teams on assigned projects, meet with upper management to reflect on your personal and professional development, and participate in various activities such as sporting events, dinners, team lunches, etc.

If applicable, all interns will be considered for full-time positions based on their performance over the course of their internship. Housing may be provided when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Develop PLC and HMI programs to satisfy current operations under the supervision of the Systems Engineering group.
• Assist with tracking and documenting new and modified changes to the plant, including physically visiting sites to take measurements and create accurate documentation.
• Compile, track, and analyze specific information related to areas such as motors and drives, utilities, oil, and water.
• Prepare reports and information for display or distribution, as directed by the Systems Engineering group.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Assist in projects that may include multiple departments.
• Cross train in multiple departments to gain an understanding of how multiple departments work together on various projects.
• Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• General computer knowledge and proficiency.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages, such as SQL and visual basic or experience with Auto-CAD is desired.

• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of employees as necessary, both in verbal and written form.
• Must have regular and punctual attendance.

• Office setting.

Requirements:

• Basic mechanical or maintenance experience is preferred.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or technical degree in a related discipline.
• Systems Engineering department.
