    Precinct One, which largely overlaps with the City of Houston, is a diverse, urban precinct. With approximately 1.1 million residents, Harris County Precinct One covers 363 square miles.

    Precinct One's multi-racial, multi-ethnic population is roughly 39 percent African American, 37 percent Latino, 18 percent Anglo, 5 percent Asian and 1 percent other.

    Precinct One stretches south to the Brazoria County line and reaches into eastern and northern sections of Harris County.

    The Precinct's territory includes a large section of downtown Houston, including the Harris County Courthouse Complex, Toyota Center, and Minute Maid Park.

    Other notable landmarks include the 263-acre NRG Park Complex, the renowned Texas Medical Center, Rice University, Texas Southern University, the University of Houston's main and downtown campuses and the University of St.

    Thomas.

    About the Logistic Coordinator III
    Precinct One has an exciting opportunity for Logistic Coordinator III in the Shared Services Divisions.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • The Logistics Coordinator will coordinate various aspects of inventory management and oversight of products and materials.
    • Inspect and record shipments of products and equipment, and process maintenance requests and work orders.
    • Identify efficient processes to organize and expedite shipping and distribution.
    • Use electronic LMIS (Logistics Management Information System) to assist with efficient and accurate oversight of material tracking and coordination.
    • The Logistics Coordinator will facilitate the movement of supplies, inventory, FF&E, and personnel throughout the Precinct.
    • Sort and count parts and supplies and log inventory.
    • Ensure correct parts are kept in the appropriate quantities to support production and assembly.
    • The Logistics Coordinator will collaborate with buyers and parts coordinators on incoming materials and service requests.
    • Move requested material from the warehouse into service inventory or directly to a service workstation.
    • Respond to emergency supply and equipment requests.
    • Maintain appropriate documentation and participate in process improvements and quality improvement programs.
    • Trace lost shipments and/or claims of lost shipments.
    • Initiates proof of delivery documents.
    • Ensure quality and safety requirements are met.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements
    What you will bring to Precinct One

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
    • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of the specified educational requirements.

    Experience:

    • Three (3) years of related experience as a logistics coordinator
    • Proficiency in Microsoft software applications which could include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

    Licensure:

    • Valid driver's license (Texas upon hire) and a good driving record.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of department industry best practices, contract management, and facility code
    • Knowledge and ability in coordinating requests for quotes, and facilitating procurement of all materials and services
    • Knowledge of inventory management and LMIS programs

    Work Environment and Physical Demands:

    • This is a physically active position that requires exerting in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Subject to kneeling, crouching, walking, sitting, twisting, and reaching are needed to perform the essential functions at various job sites (inside and outside). At times items and/or equipment must be transported.
    • This job operates in both indoor and outdoor environments. Exposure to various weather conditions, temperature variations, loud noises and possible dangerous chemicals may be encountered.
