Job Description The Archer Project (CAP) started over 30 years ago and has developed into a forward-thinking charity that supports homeless adults to achieve a fulfilling and enjoyable life. The fundraising team work creatively to raise the profile of CAP and keep issues surrounding homelessness at the forethought of public consciousness.
We are looking to recruit a **full-time, permanent Kitchen Manager** , responsible for the overall operations of the CAP kitchen and dining area, and for ensuring they meet operating and organisational goals through volunteer development, service satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation. Daily activities will focus on motivating their team of paid employees and / or volunteers, maximising the potential of donations, overseeing food production and supervising individual involvement, whilst maintaining high product standards.
The post holder actively leads, plans, organises and onboards the paid employees and / or volunteer team to achieve organisational mission, vision and aims. They provide mentorship and coaching to paid employees and / or volunteers, including setting the standard for excellent customer service. They participate in production cooking as well as in department planning, including budgeting and food cost analysis, donations stock control and ordering, creative recipe development and product mix.
Success in this position is founded upon the following key areas: working to achieve the highest level of team performance with respect to beneficiary experience; successful delegation to volunteers; development, training and retention of partner and external volunteers in accordance with the Projects guidelines, policies and procedures; respectively HACCP and COSHH compliance.
**Key Employment Terms:**
a) Salary scale: 20, ,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
b) Contract type: Permanent, full-time.
c) Work pattern: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some out-of-hours flexibility is required.
d) Location: CAP - Cathedral site: Campo Lane, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield, S1 2EF.
e) Holidays: 33 days pro-rata (including public holidays).
f) Pension scheme: Peoples Pension is our pension provider. We contribute at the statutory rates (3% of salary Employers contribution) if you have been auto enrolled (after 3 months in post).
g) Probationary period: Appointment subject to 3-month review period, which may be subject to extension.
h) Appointment subject to successful undertaking of an Enhanced DBS Check.
