- Define, propose and implement a global insurance strategy as it applies to the purchase of insurance coverage
- Actively manage large complex claims
- Oversees operations and performance of insurance broker, Third Party Administrators (TPA's) and other vendors; manages deliverables; reviews
vendor contracts. - Makes recommendations regarding insurance coverage, including new coverage, to effectively manage evolving risks;
- Direct insurance renewal information gathering process, completion of applications and audit process
- Direct property engineering survey's, reports, site visits and annual recommendation tracking
- Direct and lead brokerage partner relationships, including open items issues and annual stewardship reports
- Prepare TCOR analyses and budgets, identify exposures and offer solutions to mitigate overall risk
- Review policy wording to ensure that it appropriately and accurately meets Company expectations and negotiate new wording as required
- Provide education for senior management on insurance program and impacts to operational issues
- Evaluate and negotiate insurance language in contracts, leases and/or operating agreements and, if necessary, develop and recommend insurance language
- Prepare monthly reports for senior management on risk issues

The Director of Risk Management plays a leadership role in the strategic development and implementation of the risk management program. Leads all risk management activities, including risk identification; risk financing and transfer; risk prevention; and claims management. Oversees, purchase and renewal of insurance policies, and recommendations for self-funding.
