    We are hiring a Project Accountant to be based out of our HQ in Eden Prairie. This is a hybrid role.

    The person who thrives in this role will seek out opportunities for continued process improvement and leadership, and desires to have a strong influence on the group's direction.

    Along with the potential for leadership and career growth, this person will manage all financial aspects of customer projects.

    Major Responsibilities

    Work closely with Business Unit Managers and Project Engineers to ensure an understanding of the project and billing systems, procedures, and deadlines
    Lead process improvement efforts across the department
    Mentor junior accounting team members as they develop in their career
    Communication skills and excellent follow-up when appropriate
    Set up customer projects within the project accounting system for multiple out-of-state and local office locations to allow for accurate billing and financial reporting
    Review pre-billing information with project managers; make appropriate corrections/adjustments to pre-billing information
    Prepare, review, mail, and file customer invoices promptly and accurately
    Review and approve project-related vendor purchase orders and invoices
    Generate and distribute project reports
    Review project revenue and percent complete estimates with the Business Unit and Project Managers
    Responsible for project account receivables and collections; researching and resolving cash receipt discrepancies
    Provide advanced knowledge of state sales tax laws and prepare monthly sales tax reports for timely filing
    Close out projects upon completion assuring projects have been billed to the extent possible and commitments have been resolved

    Minimum Requirements

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or related discipline preferred. A two-year degree with equivalent industry experience may be substituted.

    Experience

    Four years of direct experience in accounting and accounting procedures, monthly billings, A/R, and journal entries is desired.

    Physical Demands of Position

    Ability to see and hear with use of dexterity in hands for clerical duties within the job.

    Working Environment

    Standard office environment. Frequent use of a personal computer, facsimile machine, copy machine, and other office equipment.
