    • Annual Salary Range: $60, $70,000.00

    Position Summary & Responsibilities:

    Central Accountant - Business Systems Analyst (Finance)

    As a Business Systems Analyst on the SMART Systems Team within the Office of Accounts and Reports you will be part of a dynamic, family-friendly team of subject matter experts supporting the statewide PeopleSoft Financials system known as SMART (the Statewide Management, Accounting & Reporting Tool). In this position, you will utilize your problem-solving skills to improve the user experience of financial staff across the State of Kansas. You will provide functional analysis and support for the Purchasing area of the system, including the eProcurement, Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Contract modules, and engage in troubleshooting system issues, and identifying and defining opportunities for enhancements. This team works closely with IT development and security staff to maintain and improve the system.

    The position will execute a variety of business analyst responsibilities and develop professional skills in the following areas:
    • Analyzing business requirements
    • Testing system modifications and updates
    • Troubleshooting defects and documenting resolution
    • Developing and recommending business system process improvements

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Four years of previous experience in professional accounting and/or business systems analyst work. Education in accounting, business administration, finance, management information systems or related field may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in business, accounting and/or management information systems. Experience using PeopleSoft Financials 9.0 or higher. Background in purchasing strongly preferred. Basic working knowledge of SQL a plus.
