    Job Description:


    In this position, the Registered Rehab Specialist provides customer evaluations, product and educational services in the areas of wheeled mobility, seating and alternative positioning, ambulation assistance, environmental controls, augmented communication and activities of daily living assistive devices.

    Represents Intermountain Health, St.

    Vincent in the community and works to maintain and strengthen existing referral source relationships and builds new relationships to expand and grow patient services.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Customer Service


    • Participates directly in patient assessment processes with occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians and other rehab specialists
    • Evaluates patients for specialty rehabilitation items and develops plan of treatment with physicians, therapists and other staff.
    • Revises plans to meet patient needs.
    • Offers the customer/patient/consumer/caregiver product choices and assists them with ordering, assembling, adjusting, modifying, delivering and providing ongoing support and service to meet individual rehabilitation equipment needs.
    Billing and Inventory


    • Assists the billing department in certifying and recertifying patients, assuring CMN and prescriptions are completed.
    • Provides information to the billing system to expedite the third party reimbursement and follow-up on denials
    • Keeps all items that will be stock items with assigned shelf codes and computer numbers in the MCS system Growth
    • Make patient care rounds in the medical centers and other areas of business for assessment of medical equipment and supplies and specialty rehabilitation equipment, and/or equipment to enhance lifestyle changes.
    • Works with Manager to develop growth strategies and goals on an annual basis.
    • Connects with referral sources via face-to-face or phone interaction in the service area to grow and expand business.
    • Provide in-services, training and education to referral sources and providers within the service area.
    • Keeps current with new equipment, services and technology introduced by manufacturers related to assistive devices for patients.
    • Evaluates new products or services to enhance business opportunities.
    Minimum Requirements


    • Requirements are representative of the minimum level of knowledge, skills and/or abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
    • Current ATP Certification or achievement within 90 days of hire, required
    • Demonstrated basic working knowledge of the following areas: gross musculoskeletal anatomy; normal and abnormal neurodevelopment, neuromuscular abnormalities, disabling conditions and disease processes, secondary complications to long term disability and biomechanical principles, concepts and applications
    • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment
    • Experience in understanding and usage of computers, as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position.

    Physical Requirements:


    Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.- and -Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.- and -See and read computer monitors and documents.- and -Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.- and -May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
