    Description

    CT Technologist at Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, VA

    As a CT Technologist, you will play a vital role in applying the art and skill of diagnostic imaging using CT scanning equipment to deliver direct patient care in a compassionate and efficient manner. Your work will contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Assures image quality and accuracy of patient data.
    • Performs computed tomography procedures.
    • Properly positions and immobilizes patients for scanning.
    • Administers radiographic contrast agents as necessary.
    • Participates in on-call rotation.

    Licensing/Certification:

    BLS Basic Life Support and Registration with ARRT are required. Advanced modality registration in CT is preferred.

    Work Experience:

    Minimum 1 year of experience as a CT or Rad Tech is preferred.

    Education:

    Associate's degree from an ARRT accredited institute is preferred.

    Working Conditions:

    • May experience high-stress situations and fluctuating workloads.
    • Exposure to physical altercations and verbal abuse may occur.
    • Required to use physical restraints and work in various environmental conditions.
    • Exposure to high noise levels and bright lights.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Lifting, carrying, pushing, kneeling, climbing, and more physical demands may be required.

    Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
    • Computer literacy and commitment to patient care are key.
    • Attention to detail and critical thinking abilities are crucial.
