- Compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals.
- Prepares IV solutions.
- Prepares and maintains all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges and inventory.
- Provides information to facility staff on drugs and pharmaceuticals.
- Writes guidelines for drug use within the hospital and implements hospital regulations.
- Ensures medicines are stores appropriately and securely.
- Provides guidance to pharmacy staff.
- Answers questions about medicines from within the hospital, other hospitals and the general public.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Delivers medications to nursing stations.
- Performs the AcuDose refill for the Two Twelve Medical Center and the Narcotic Box refill and exchange for the CRNA's.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains that the pharmacy follows rules set out by the board of pharmacy
- Orders and stocks medications in accordance with DEA regulations
- Maintains that all licenses and variances are up to date for the assigned site
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
- Pharmacist experience in hospital setting
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Ability to work carefully, methodically and accurately
- Knowledge of IV admixture, unit doses, computer operation, oncology, nutritional support and kinetic dosing
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
- Valid Minnesota Pharmacist licensure
