    Overview

    We are seeking a full-time Aviation Systems Engineer 1

    at our Salem,
    ORlocation.

    In this role, you will be responsible for

    supporting successful conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems by creating, identifying, documenting, and coordinating customer and regulatory system requirements and scalable system design for integrated flight deck programs and/or retrofit product lines

    .
    Essential Functions
    Identifies and documents technical scope of change in support of small changes to already supported functionality or interfaces
    Creates a simple set of testable system requirements and technical documentation for well-defined functionality, following requirements standards and documented best practices
    Provides technical content for system design/description documentation
    Executes a subset of system-level processes, with efficient and accurate hand-offs to/from customers or development teams at the aircraft and sub-system/equipment levels
    Assesses existing system's compliance with a select set of customer requirements utilizing existing hardware, software, and configuration
    May provide support for tool maintenance or perform bench testing of select interfaces or functionality
    Identifies and resolves defects of basic scope using proper engineering tools and techniques
    Basic Qualifications
    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field


    OR
    an equivalent combination of education and experience
    Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
    Basic troubleshooting and debugging skills and knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas:
    Systems Integration
    System Safety
    System Requirements
    Desired Qualifications
    Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
    Previous work or internship experience working on consumer or aviation products
