    Job Description:


    The Proprietary Sustainment Engineer 5 is a senior professional involved in the installation coordination for design, modification, maintenance, and repair of aircraft, aircraft components, aircraft structures, component structures, mechanical systems, and mission equipment installations.

    The Proprietary engineer applies basic engineering design and/or analytical theory with understanding of structural analysis for application to integrated system design while maintaining awareness of program considerations.

    The Proprietary liaison/sustainment engineering technical leadership role includes support in the transition from engineering design to manufacturing, production, assembly, and aircraft installation of designed products.

    This position also includes application of principles supporting aircraft life cycle maintenance (repair, rework and designing replacement parts).

    Proprietary liaison/sustainment engineering technical leaders have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.

    This position requires significant personal interaction with many diverse organizations (aircraft mechanics, manufacturing/production personnel, program management, customer representatives and other engineering disciplines).


    Essential Functions:
    Must have extensive experience in dispositioning repairs for in-service aircraft discrepancies.

    Must have experience leading and teaching a team of engineers working Discrepancy Records that have direct impact on operational milestones and extended to a fleet of aircraft.

    Must be able to develop and maintain strong and credible relationships with long-term customers (both internal and external). Successful candidate will have demonstrated performance in this area.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Must be able to manage multiple priorities and complex projects with minimum oversight or direction.

    Must be able to walk to and from the flight line, work in aircraft hangar environment, board/exit aircraft, to include accessing and maneuvering in restricted/limited spaces such as aircraft wing and body fuel tanks, and walking on wings and fuselage (with appropriate safety gear).

    Off-shift support will be required to include Night Shift support rotation; Weekend support: rotation; On-Call Weekend, Nights, and Holiday support rotation.

    Job Qualification Requirements:
    Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related Engineering disciple desired. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

    Engineering experience in the Aerospace Industry required.
    Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship is required.


    Preferred Additional Skills:


    Experience on the Casa CN-235, Boeing 757, Boeing 737, and GulfStream G550 Platforms, including a combination of engineering or aircraft technical equivalent experience in heavy maintenance and major-structural repairs.

    Sustainment Engineering experience and MRB Level 2 Engineering Certification is highly desired.
    Familiarity with FAA (Part 23, 25, and 43) and military aircraft airworthiness design approach, certification process, and requirements.

    Experience with current OEM DLAs and rules for use, retention, and disposal of OEM Proprietary Data as it pertains to all current L3Harris contracts.

    Experience bidding Sustainment Engineering Support for full MITD efforts as well as Supplemental Modifications.
    Manufacturing shop engineering support experience is highly desired.
    CAD skills are desired.
    Good computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Visio and other Office products.
