    Description


    As a Senior Software Engineer for Open Platform Engineering, you will join the API Platform team that is responsible for advancing the platform in addition to the managing of API traffic and maintaining the stability and performance of Oracle Health FHIR APIs product across multiple cloud regions.

    The Oracle Health FHIR APIs for Millennium are a set of APIs based on industry definitions by HL7 (Health Level 7 International) utilizing the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) and Substitutable Medical Applications Reusable Technology (SMART) standards.

    These APIs allow system integrations with the Oracle Health Millennium Platform database or web-based applications to be integrated with and launched from within Oracle PowerChart electronic medical record application.

    Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree


    in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.

    At least

    4 years

    of software engineering work experience.

    Experience with one or more programming languages, but not limited to: Ruby, PHP, Java or C#.

    Experience with building web services.

    Development experience with RESTful API design.

    Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to multiple stakeholders and audience types.

    Ability to work in a highly collaborative and agile environment.

    Experience with automated testing frameworks.

    Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).

    Comfortable in a collaborative, agile development environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with Ruby on Rails.

    Time will be reserved initially after joining for trainings, as needed, to learn/extend Ruby on Rails knowledge.

    Experience with observability tools like Splunk and New Relic.

    Experience with API management products.

    Experience with cloud-based platforms.

    The Open Platform Engineering team focuses on creating a robust, standards-based API ecosystem to extend the Oracle Health Millennium platform to third party developers.

    Leveraging HL7 FHIR and SMART standards, we are fostering a community of innovators working on some of toughest challenges providers face today in health care.

    We also drive participation in the broader industry through the engagement of our development community as well as the working groups pushing the evolution of the standard's definitions.
