    Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

    Location: Greer SC

    12 Months Contract

    Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities

    • This team manages suppliers that are focused on exterior trim components (trim items, lighting, ceilings). This person would focus primarily on the ceiling systems. The material is all rubber components (parts that go around the doors). This role will manage 5-6 suppliers (maximum 6 suppliers). Mainly responsible for ensuring suppliers are producing the right quality and quantity for Plant . This will be all of the series projects, no industrialization projects at the moment. This will be maintaining the series production.
    • Must have: Automotive background (either tier supplier or OEM)
    • Nice to have: German or Spanish language would be nice to have
    • Supports the Module Quality Engineer(s) in advanced quality planning activities such as risk assessment, product and process development. Communicates with other CLIENT Plants in the worldwide CLIENT Network including joint problem solving. Executes the process series before Start of Production (SOP) with the suppliers (world-wide).
    • Supports launch projects after hand over to Supplier Quality Assurance ensuring compliance with CLIENT specifications. Conducts the Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) releases for assigned products. Supports new and challenging supplier's quality and production systems.
    • Reviews the monthly supplier rating. Performs product and process audits due to occurred errors and supplier rating results and initiates counteractions and counteraction verification. Leads 8D quality problem solving process for supplier related issues. Conducts requalification audits for the quality management system at the supplier location(s). Validates start up ability for new parts/processes. Collaborates on the part approval process for assigned suppliers. Coordinates reduction of supplier related warranty claims via Defect Eradication Process. Participates in internal warranty reduction problem solving teams regarding purchased parts.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by CLIENT operations supervisor.
    • III. Position Competencies
    • Education: BS degree in Engineering or related field or the equivalent of 4 years of professional supplier quality process/components experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
    • Experience: 6+ years (5+ years with a master's degree) of professional experience in the related part technology and/or processing.
