    Job Summary

    Work Shift

    1 - First ShiftAre you the type of person who excels at understanding and improving industrial painting? In this role you will be part of a technical team who researches and implements paint systems to support manufacturing and improve our capability and capacity to build Vermeer equipment. We're looking for a team member who can work effectively with the Vermeer team, from paint operators to leaders in manufacturing.

    What You'll Do

    1. Collaborate with a high performing team of engineers and engineering technicians to support existing paint systems while researching, developing, and implementing new paint materials and technologies.

    2. Develop strategic partners outside of Vermeer who can supply materials and provide paint equipment that align with Vermeer's business needs.

    3. Work cross functionally with engineering and manufacturing to determine production parts and parts presentation that are ready for painting and influence enhancements that improve other parts' capability to paint.

    What We're Looking For

    Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related technical field; or Associate's degree in a technical field and a minimum of four years' related experience.

    Desire to dig in and understand the technical details of industrial painting including safety, quality, parts presentation, blasting, washing, parts preparation, priming, flash time, topcoat, cure, process capability, PLC control, capacity planning, solid modeling, and manufacturing flow.

    Prior experience implementing paint systems, leveraging continuous improvement, managing projects, transferring technology, supporting manufacturing processes and writing quote specifications, preferred.

    Travel

    - Occasional travel is expected of this position.

    Work Location

    ONSITE: A team member's day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
