    Licensing Specialist I
    Position Summary

    The Licensing Specialist is responsible for the completion of all state licensure applications for all employed TeleSpecialists physicians and submitting them to the state medical boards.

    The Licensing Specialists ensures all providers information is complete and accurate and all Expirable documents are maintained and current within MD Staff.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Complete the license application and enrollment of employed tele-medicine physician licenses across all states
    Assist with the on-boarding process

    (internally/externally)

    to include:
    Obtaining state licenses within established timelines.
    Ensure physician expirables are renewed timely in support of the state guidelines for compliance
    Ensure departmental guidelines support all contracted hospital privileges and procedures
    Identify and analyze the physician information received to ensure accuracy
    Assist in the credentialing process by

    entering/logging/scanning

    information into credentialing system for initial, updated, and maintenance processes
    Track the licensure application process in order to promote compliance, process enhancement, and efficiency
    Maintains copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required licensing documents for all providers
    Makes leadership aware of any potential derogatory issues identified during the licensing process and works in collaboration with practitioner to document/resolve the issue
    Other duties as assigned

    Education/Experience:
    High School Diploma or equivalent
    Physician licensing experience required- 1year of direct experience submitting licensing applications to the State Medical Boards for physicians
    Credentialing experience preferred
    MD Staff Experience preferred
    Experience with Credentialing Accreditation by Joint Commission or National Committee for Quality Assurance preferred

    Computer Skills:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
    Microsoft Office Suite
    Credentialing Software

    Certificates and Licenses:
    Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) through National Association of Medical Staff Services a plus
