Job Title: Network Security Engineer

Location: Remote

Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network infrastructure, with a focus on security from a network perspective. This position requires a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and virtual private networks (VPNs).

2. Analyze firewall rules and articulate improvements to enhance network security.

3. Perform server hardening and secure configuration management.

4. Design and implement secure network architectures, following best practices and industry standards.

5. Leverage the command-line interface (CLI) to manage and configure network devices and servers.

6. Create and manage virtual machines (VMs) as needed.

7. Manage certificate authorities (CAs) and deploy certificates at the DNS level.

8. Monitor network traffic and analyze security logs to detect and respond to potential security incidents.

9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security solutions and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 4 years of experience in a network security role.

3. Strong hands-on expertise with Fortinet security products, including specific examples of how you have used them in your previous roles.

4. Solid understanding of network protocols, topologies, and security best practices.

5. Experience with server hardening techniques and secure configuration management.

6. Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell, for automation and security tool integration.

7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think like an attacker.

8. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Note: This is not a cloud-focused role. The primary focus is on hardcore infrastructure, routing/switching, server hardening, and secure network design.
