- Bachelor's Degree required
- Oklahoma teaching certificate: Mild/Moderate, Severe/Profound, or other Special Education area
- 3 or more years recent special education experience preferred
- Knowledge of state and federal laws/regulations and best practices related to special education
- Experience in classroom management/behavior strategies and secondary transition
- Experience and skills to provide staff development in special education areas
- Evidence of leadership within building and/or district
- Support the district and staff in curriculum development and implementation
- Assist in IEP development and monitoring to ensure progress
- Ensure compliance in program implementation
- Coach teachers on effective practices and behavior support
- Provide valuable resources, training, and support for transition activities
- Help coordinate the ESY program
- Contribute to maintaining district compliance standards
- Participate in student placement and program improvement recommendations
- Stay updated on special education research and legal aspects
- Support recruitment and retention of special education staff
- Facilitate connections between programs and community agencies
- Collect, analyze, and report relevant data
- Demonstrate leadership within the department
- Regularly meet with the Special Services Department/Executive Director

JOB TITLE: Special Education Program Facilitator
QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB GOAL: The role of the Special Education Program Facilitator is to provide vital support, coaching, technical assistance, and professional development to the district's special education programs. The focus is on complying with federal, state, and district special education policies and procedures.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
