    Description

    Job Title: LPN

    UPMC in Harrisburg is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time, day shift role supporting the OBGYN office. This position offers no weekend and no holiday commitments.

    Purpose:

    The successful candidate will provide professional nursing care to office patients under the supervision of patient care providers.

    Responsibilities:

    • Draw blood samples from patients.
    • Comply with regulations from appropriate agencies such as OSHA, CLIA, and the PA Department of Health.
    • Administer medications including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and IV drip.
    • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
    • Evaluate patient conditions, take vital signs, and record weights.
    • Follow all established policies and procedures.
    • Perform IV therapy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
    • Document patient activities, interventions, medication, and responses in medical records.
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding medical records and other sensitive data.
    • Provide patient education materials and communicate physician advice and instructions.

    Requirements:

    • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
    • One year of clinical experience preferred.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    • CPR certification based on AHA standards, demonstrated within 30 days of hire.
    • Clearances dated within 90 days.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
    • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
    • Act 33 with renewal.
    • Act 34 with renewal.
    • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.

    Note: UPMC requires current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.

    Estimated Salary:

    $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
