    Description


    The Industrial Engineering Internship is an opportunity for students to expand their knowledge and learn new skills while under the coaching and mentorship of an Operational Excellence engineer.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

    2. Assist in product or system design under the direct guidance of an engineer or designer.
    3. Participate in engineering team meetings.
    4. Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine possible design improvements.
    5. Confer with research and other engineering personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop/modify designs as required.
    6. Prepare product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
    7. Prepare and compile necessary calculations to support product designs.
    8. Assist with machine or systems tests. Compile and organize data.
    9. Analyze test data and reports to help determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
    10. Perform engineering duties and subtasks in area of discipline of minimal complexity for a project or projects.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication (both written and verbal), and organizational skills
    • Proactive and engaged; shows interest in improving work processes; change advocate
    • Fundamentals of industrial engineering
    • Ability to effectively interface at all levels of personnel and management
    • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Ability to self-motivate and work productively both with and without supervision
    • Working knowledge of Word and Excel, as well as, SolidWorks and AutoCAD ability.
    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
    • Currently enrolled in a minimum of 2nd year in an accredited industrial engineering program.
