Job SummaryThe English Department at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) seeks applicants for Lecturer positions beginning August 1, 2024.
GGC emphasizes a student-centered learning environment and applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to student success. We are an institution that values and encourages innovative teaching. In addition to teaching, applicants are expected to actively participate in extensive student engagement, and service to the college and community. Advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty.
Successful candidates for Lecturer positions will teach a 5/5 load of lower-division, general education courses in English, unless the need arises in a specialty area of the candidate's scholarship.
Master's degree in the teaching discipline; or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline.
Terminal degree in the teaching discipline.
1 year college level teaching experience.
Strong preference may be given to candidates holding a doctorate
Preference may be given to candidates with experience teaching developmental or co-requisite English support classes
Preference may be given to candidates with a background in Rhetoric and Composition.
