    Our Mechanical Engineer III will research, plan, and design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, coordinate activities involved in the design, assembly and testing of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
    • Designs End Products or Systems such as wafer handling systems, EFEMs, Robotics and Load locks.
    • Designs entire systems/robotics for specific applications.
    • Provides and applies Project Management approach and execution.
    • Plans, designs, and directs drafting activities and procedures for documenting products or systems.
    • Creates and manages project schedules.
    • Leads Reliability Program.
    • Provides leadership and mentoring to other team members on given projects.
    • Works and manages contract engineering firms.
    • Interfaces with customer to provide information and gain insight on a specific application.
    • Works with production to improve existing designs.
    • Works with machine shops to oversee the manufacturing/ machining of designed components.
    • Works with outside manufacturers and distributers to select OEM parts suitable for use with Hine Automation robotics.
    • Coordinates manufacturing, assembly, test and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
    • Develops new vendors for specialized production parts and procedures.
    • Originates material specifications as to type, grade, heat treating, surface finish, etc. Other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The position will not any direct supervisory responsibility but will be expected to lead major product introductions and provide day to day instructions to other team members as they relate to these projects. Cross-functional and intra-company team coordination on an on-going basis.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and
    • 10+yrs of related experience, preferably with a semiconductor automation background.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Working knowledge of integrated systems to include electronics and all mechanical assemblies.
    • Working knowledge of blueprints, drawings, schematics, BOMs, manufacturing documentation systems, and other related material.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Ability to apply statistical methods to develop solutions to manufacturing problems, or to predict trends.
    • Ability to operate a Windows based computer workstation with MS Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, etc.)

    WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • The normal work environment is typical of a business office, manufacturing operation.
    • The incumbent is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, touch, see, and hear, and may be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
    • While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
    • The incumbent must be able to wear safety equipment and follow safety instructions.
