    Job DescriptionBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGERThe position will be based within the defined geography, preferably near a Chubb Regional or Branch Office.

    The role will report to the RVP, Regional Business Development, and the Seattle Branch Manager. The territory includes travel to and within WA, MT and ID.


    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for business development in the assigned territory of brokers, agents, and other distribution partners, focused primarily on Chubb's products and services associated with Middle Market, Small Commercial and Financial Lines business.

    The BDM acts as ambassador for all that Chubb has to offer for a select group of Agents and Brokers.

    The BDM is responsible for overall agency relationship management including new client acquisition and client management.

    The BDM manages and maintains focus on achieving KPI metrics, including gross written premium, new business, submissions, close ratio, profitability, new appointments, and agency visitation.


    MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Develops tactical sales plan designed to achieve annual objectives. These objectives include the capture of market share, revenue growth, profitability and the retention of key accounts. Builds relationships with principals, producers and account executives within assigned agents and brokers. Educates agency staff on Chubb suite of products and capabilities. Works closely with the commercial underwriting staff on account evaluation and acquisition or retention strategy on large commercial accounts. Identifies new customers through pipelining, pre-qualification, territory analysis and management. Gathers and shares feedback on market conditions and competitive intelligence.


    QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    Minimum of 5 years of Broker/Agent sales experience; business development experience in commercial lines preferred. College degree or equivalent business experience.

    CPCU or CIC recommended Excellent interpersonal, communications and negotiation skillsAuthoritative knowledge of commercial products, forms and coverages Self-motivated, self-starter able to thrive working independentlyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCapable of dealing with highly visible and demanding customersMust be able to effectively work in a team and matrix reporting environmentThe pay range for the role is $92,500 to $158,000.

    The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
