Duties
- Monitor and attend to pets' needs throughout the overnight shift, ensuring they are comfortable, safe, and relaxed
- Administer medications or special treatments as prescribed by veterinary professionals
- Engage pets with gentle handling, play, and enrichment activities to promote mental and physical well-being
- Maintain detailed logs of pet behavior, health status, feeding schedules, and any concerns that arise during your shift
- Assist with pet grooming, feeding, and cleaning to uphold hygiene standards and pet comfort
- Handle animal restraint safely during examinations or treatments, demonstrating animal handling expertise
- Communicate effectively with veterinary staff or pet owners regarding any health issues or behavioral changes
Experience
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic, kennel, or pet sitting environment is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and dog handling skills to manage various temperaments confidently
- Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is a strong plus for understanding medical needs and procedures
- Familiarity with pet grooming and animal care routines to ensure pets look and feel their best
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for cleaning supplies, bedding, or equipment setup
- Strong customer service skills to communicate professionally with pet owners and team members
- Experience in animal restraint techniques and animal handling to ensure safety for both pets and staff
