- Serve as a strategic partner to the President & CEO and Board of Directors on financial planning, risk management, sustainability, trends, and agency growth.
- Lead long-term financial planning and forecasting aligned with agency priorities, impact goals, and external economic conditions.
- Promote data-informed decision-making across departments through effective financial modeling and forecasting.
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow, accounting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, dashboards, and forecasts for executive leadership and the Board.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to guide agency strategy and resource allocation.
- Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the organization's capital planning processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Oversee the organization's investment portfolio, ensuring alignment with board-approved investment policies and the organization's mission, values, and long-term financial objectives.
- Manage the annual audit process and ensure all financial practices comply with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Monitor internal controls and risk exposure and implement improvements to strengthen fiscal operations.
- Lead the preparation of annual filings, including IRS Form 990 and other regulatory reports.
- Oversee financial management of public and private grants, including compliance, reimbursement, and reporting.
- Collaborate with program and advancement teams to ensure strategic and compliant use of restricted funds.
- Lead and develop the Finance team to ensure high performance, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Oversee payroll administration and benefits-related fiscal responsibilities.
- Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes for efficiency and scalability.
- Lead the development and enforcement of agency-wide policies and procedures, including employee guidelines related to fiscal responsibility, to ensure alignment with regulatory standards, best practices, and organizational values.
- Present regularly to the Board of Directors and its Finance Committee, providing insight, transparency, and strategic guidance.
- Support the financial literacy and engagement of board members in stewardship and sustainability efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including significant nonprofit experience.
- Proven record of managing audits, complex budgets, and cross-functional financial operations.
- Authentic personal commitment to Catholic Social Teaching.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, financial analysis, and business acumen.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts for diverse audiences.
- Deep knowledge of fund accounting, grant management, and nonprofit regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks) and payroll platforms (e.g., Paylocity) a plus.
- Occasional evenings and weekends are required to accommodate meetings and special events.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $130,000 annually. Salary is determined based on the applicant's incoming skills and experience, and the budget at time of hiring.
