    SUMMARY:


    As part of a leading global aerospace distributor, the Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for effective and proactive evaluation of suppliers to ensure consistent and timely receipt of high-quality materials. This includes onsite supplier audits, onboarding and performance management, development/consultation, and supplier corrective action requests and monitoring. This role also supports the internal quality team in QMS maintenance and execution. Additional responsibilities will be to drive a culture of continuous improvement through all supplier communications and interactions.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    1. Supports the quality organization to ensure system processes are effective and aligned to the requirements of third-party quality standards.
    2. Provides supplier quality metrics, trends, and activities to improve cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
    3. Communicate and work with all departments such as purchasing, sales, operations, quality, and customer service as needed in support of our products.
    4. Conducts supplier analyses, identifying critical control points, and implementing preventive measures and verification procedures in support of supplier relationships.
    5. Supports the analysis of supplier performance metrics to recommend supplier approval/selection and sourcing decisions.
    6. Reviews analytical reports from ERP system to ensure supplier efficiencies are being met and suggest areas that can be optimized or improved for each supplier.
    7. Reports on supplier performance, identifying any needs for improvement and generating and monitoring supplier corrective actions.
    8. Assist in supplier development programs to enhance their capabilities, quality systems, and ability to meet our evolving needs.
    9. Coordinates internal, and third-party audits as needed, at each supplier.
    10. Coordinates updates to policies and practices and ensures they are flowed down to each supplier, and to other functions as needed.
    11. Works directly with engineering, supply chain, and product line team to understand material requirements for new product and supplier requirements.
    12. Works with inspection team, as needed, understanding inspection and documentation needs.
    13. Effectively communicates problem statement to supplier using the supplier corrective action request (SCAR) process and form including all pertinent information (purchase orders, PART numbers, quantities, etc.)
    14. Monitors SCAR list weekly and follows up weekly with any supplier with a past due open SCAR.
    15. Proposes and makes ongoing improvements to products, the associated inspection process and equipment as appropriate.
    16. Supports cross functional teams through the quality process including, but not limited to, production specifications, design reviews, model development and associated drawings.
    17. Works with the Safety and Operations leaders, as required, to adhere to safety in the organization.
    18. Ensures supplier processes are properly executed, ensure a quality culture of root cause analysis and supplier corrective action to prevent future escapes and continuously improve customer satisfaction.
    19. Works closely with quality leaders and other functional leaders to ensure both customer and company requirements are met or exceeded.
    20. Other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


    Bachelor's degree
    6-7 years of relevant/technical work experience
    An additional 3-year specific work experience in lieu of degree
    5+ years of supplier quality experience, particularly with any of the quality standards or lean systems, ISO 9001 and AS9100 series, LSS
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook
    Excellent verbal and written communication
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    Data analysis and statistical aptitude
    Excellent project management skills

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:


    Master's degree
    10+ years relevant work experience
    Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Risk Management, quality, or quality auditor certifications
    Formal Quality and/or Process Improvement certification from accredited institution. LSS, etc.
    Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, FAA 0056B, and/or AS9120
    Knowledge of Quantum Control Software

    The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
    The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
