- Follow daily menu
- Uses recipes for all food prepared
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved
- Greet customers with a positive, friendly, courteous attitude
- Provide information about the menu selections and pricing
- Problem solve by being a good listener to understand customer needs and being flexible with individuals for special needs, yet follows our basic principles for pricing
- Cashier responsibilities
- In the process of getting high school diploma or GED; high school diploma/GED preferred
- Must be 18 years of age to use equipment
- A minimum of six months' experience as a cook in a health care facility, restaurant or cafeteria, or worked as a cook's assistant with on-the-job training is required
- Experience as a Prep Cook is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language

Come work for us as a Cook at the ChildServe Spirit Cafe Our team provides quality meals to children and families on our inpatient care units, as well as meals for our Johnston staff. In this role, you will work with a team to provide high-quality, nutritious food and fluids at appropriate temperatures and with appropriate texture modifications, while maintaining sanitary procedures. Some days you'll be cooking, some days you'll be prepping. Compensation is based on relevant experience. A great job if you like variety in your work
Compensation
Starting pay rate for this position is between $16-18/hour, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week
10am - 6:30pm with every other weekend off
