    Description

    Position Summary:

    • Seeking a Software Engineering Validation Engineer for Automotive Infotainment Systems specializing in maintaining software release schedules, creating automated test cases, executing functional validation, debugging data communication issues, and testing software performance.
    • Key involvement in system integration and development to ensure optimal performance of all features within an internal software tool for head unit testing.
    • Responsibilities:
      • Software Release Testing: Conduct both internal and external usage testing.
      • Schedule Management: Keep track of schedules for unit, integration, and system testing.
      • Issue Management: Generate, monitor, and resolve tickets for the Validation Testing Team.
      • Test Automation: Develop automation test cases and plans for validation projects.
      • Functional Validation: Perform functional tests on bench and field for automated software.
      • Documentation and Reporting: Create documentation, materials, and reports for customer engineering meetings.
      • Software Improvement: Review and suggest software enhancements based on usage and performance testing results. Identify areas for ongoing improvement and present to the software development team.
      • Customer Meetings: Establish and maintain an open issue list for customer engineering meetings. Provide support in project-related meetings with customers and document minutes.
      • System Testing: Execute system tests as per the validation plan and propose enhancement opportunities to the development team.
      • Requirement Tracking: Gain insight into customer requirements and aid the Validation Team.
      • Procedure Testing: Validate and update test procedures as new needs arise.
      • Software Patch Evaluation: Assess new software patches and their system impacts.
      • Issue Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve claims and problems during product development and production phases.
      • Open Issue Management: Develop and manage an open issue list for customer engineering meetings.
      • Test Automation Maintenance: Update and refine automated test procedures based on new functional requirements.
      • Regression Testing: Evaluate system impacts and conduct regression testing with each new software release.
    • Required Skills and Education:
      • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering (or equivalent experience)
      • Proficiency in Python and basic scripting languages
      • Rapid learning ability for new technologies and skills
      • Keen attention to detail, exceptional verbal and written communication skills
      • Capability in thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting
      • Aptitude for creating clear, well-documented, and efficient test cases
      • Experience in testing complex embedded products and systems (preferred)
      • Background in automation software testing (preferred)
      • Familiarity with Atlassian products (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.) (preferred)
