Position Summary:
This role focuses on coordinating WMC's process improvement initiatives using LEAN methodology. Responsibilities range from planning events to implementing actions for long-term success. The position also involves ensuring compliance with CMS and Joint Commission standards.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
A minimum of four years of higher education or a Bachelor's degree.
Certification as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or the ability to obtain it within 6 months
Workplace Experience:
Experience in LEAN and Accreditation project coordination.
Equipment and Skills Training:
Must thrive under pressure, capable of working independently, and adept at applying LEAN principles across diverse environments.
Proficiency in applying accreditation standards hospital-wide.Strong organizational skills
Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
Physical Environment:
Interdepartmental
Physical Effort:
Strong oral and written English communication skills required.
Extended periods of standing, sitting, and walking (up to 8 hours daily) are necessary.
Key Results:
Coordinates Lean and Accreditation activities, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state Dept of Public Health requirements
Plans and executes process improvement initiatives using Lean methodology.
Monitors and sustains prior process improvement efforts and ensures adherence to accreditation standards.
Contributes to developing metrics for evaluating improvement needs and successes.
Reports on and monitors findings and improvement activities to the Director of Patient Safety & Quality
Provides education and acts as a resource on LEAN process improvement and accreditation for medical staff, administration, and hospital employees
Maintains professional interactions and clear communication with administrative team, department leaders, and medical staff.
Takes responsibility for assigned communications.
Keeps abreast of role-specific knowledge.
Maintains records of current and past LEAN activities at WMC.
Assists in Joint Commission Readiness by conducting simulation surveys
Other duties as assigned.
