Responsibilities:
Responsible for ongoing assessment and rapid identification of changes in condition
Crisis intervention and management
Provide ongoing patient and family education
Facilitate and arrange for appropriate discharge plan
Support the Emergency Dept. and nursing professionals by participating in dept. meetings and serving on hospital committees.
Requirements:
Valid NYS Nursing Licensure
Minimum 1-year med / surg experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
Qualifications:
ACLS/BLS certification
TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred
Prior ED or Critical Care experience
Basic Coronary Care Course within 8 months of employment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Positive attitude and willingness to function as a member of a team
ED experience preferred; exceptional candidates from other backgrounds considered
Flexibility required to work varied shifts including weekends and holiday rotation
