    • Master's Degree
    • Completion of an ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) accredited/approved Supervised Practice Program in Dietetics
    • Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian (RD) - HIGHLY PREFERRED
    • Certification with New York State as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN). If not certified on date of employment, certification should be obtained within six (months) from date of employment.
    • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
    • Board certification for assignments in specialty areas including Nutrition Support, Renal, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Oncology - HIGHLY PREFERRED
    • Knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and ability to apply all steps of the process.
    • Ability to perform a Nutrition Focused Physical Exam
    • Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy.
    • Critical thinking to integrate facts, informed opinions, active listening, and observations
    • Decision making, problem solving, and collaboration
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
    • Ability to function independently on assigned patient care units.
    • Ability to counsel and educate others.
    • Ability to function as an active participant on a team
    • General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, spreadsheet software.
    • Bilingual Spanish/English highly desired


    Under the supervision of the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the Registered Dietitian is responsible for planning dietetic treatment programs for assigned hospitalized or ambulatory patients in order to provide normal or therapeutic nutritional care, education and counseling in accordance with current and evidence-based established procedures and regulatory requirements.
