    Description

    • Per Diem (7.5 hours weekly)

    MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Respects and protects the patient's rights to confidentiality and privacy and discloses information only for professional purposes which are in the patient's best interests with full consideration of their legal rights.
    • Provides safe patient care by verifying patient identification according to established policy and assures the presence of any pre-authorizations, pre-certifications, screening forms, and all laboratory reports indicated.
    • Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, and other hazardous substances.
    • Efficient in use of all required information systems' applications (RIS, PACS, CD Burner, etc.) for data entry (charge entry, updating patient information), as well as patient tracking.
    • Aids with timely interpretation through communication with radiology facilitator and/or assists with transfer of imaging studies to teleradiology services, when indicated.
    • Responsible for assisting with the stocking of supplies (medical/surgical, linen, etc.) utilizing "first in, first out" method and tracking inventory.
    • Assists with patient and room readiness, including patient dress, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients, restroom needs, as well as ensuring clean and stocked patient care areas (e.g., changing rooms, waiting areas, exam room, etc.)
    • Attends scheduled staff meetings, inservice education opportunities and participates in continuing education programs. Formulates and maintains effective working relationships with peer, managers, and other managers of the health care team.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
    • One year of Radiology department experience highly preferred.
    • Maintains current CPR, BLS certification.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, their family members, physicians, and other health care workers.
    • Certification preferred.
