    Job Description:
    ASG is seeking a Senior Level System Engineer in support of our Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services program.


    What You Will Do:
    Working in cloud platform (AWS)
    Perform installation, maintenance, and upgrades of Atlassian Tools such as Jira and Confluence and DevSecOps Tools such as GitHub, SonarQube
    Creates custom projects in JIRA with complex workflows, reports, permission schemes etc. to meet business needs.
    Creates test cases and generates test reports for testing Atlassian Tools and enhancements.
    Collaborates with stakeholders to gather requirements for new JIRA projects and enhancements.
    Work with JIRA filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and JIRA administration.
    Perform system monitoring and maintenance, including system administration of Amazon, Linux\Windows systems.
    Help tune performance including reviewing system and application logs.
    Help ensure high availability of infrastructure is maintained.
    Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks within the environment.
    Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell Scripting.
    PostgreSQL and MySQL Database administration skills are required.
    LDAP integration experience.

    Monitoring of all issues and alerts within the environments, providing support to initially troubleshoot and\or escalate to appropriate teams as needed, coordinating effective and rapid resolutions.

    Conduct analysis and testing, including Plugins to determine best version to upgrade and meet project requirements for tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, SonarQube, and other tools used in the environments.

    Performs end-to-end testing lifecycle (Dev, Test, Prod).
    Works with team members to develop solutions for new requirements.

    Interface with other teams such as Infrastructure/Cloud, Security, Site Reliability Engineers, Administrators, Network Operations (OPS), Incidence Response Teams (IRT), Penetration/Security testing teams.

    Ensure compliance with security regulations of client environments.
    Assess, evaluate, and document existing functionality to identify potential areas for enhancements.
    Ensure industry standard methods and techniques are used within the environments.
    Schedule tasks using software support tools and scripts to automate routine processes and improve efficiency.
    Provide technical support and assistance to system users, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and offering guidance on system usage.

    Requirements


    What We Need:
    Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field preferred.
    4+ years of experience providing system administration within an AWS environment, including Atlassian Tools and DevSecOps Tools.

    Experience implementing and customizing JIRA projects with various schemes, complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes is required.

    Experience in performing installations, migrations, and plugin installation, is a must have experience.
    LDAP integration experience.

    Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills, and the ability to apply creative engineering and analytical skills to resolve system problems.

    Knowledge of MFA, VPN and forced tunneling in AWS environments.
    Clear, professional communication skills, experience in communicating with users, customers, and able to contribute to team discussions.
    Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Linux, a plus.
    Amazon Cloud Certification and any other DevOps Certification, a plus.
    Atlassian Tools certification, a plus.
    Knowledge of Splunk administration and configuration, a plus.
    Strong analytical skills.
    Be able to Manage multiple responsibilities with tight deadlines.
    Ability to work in a dynamic agile environment.
    Must have strong work ethic with good time management skills.
