    The Clinical Laboratory Technician is a versatile worker providing a variety of laboratory support functions. The incumbent will work with the Clinical Laboratory Scientist in the processing of samples and placement on analyzers for laboratory testing. The incumbent will be trained in the management of the laboratory analyzers and work with the CLS on the maintenance of the analyzers. All laboratory tasks, except those restricted by California law, will be part of the daily work schedule.

    Qualifications:

    Education

    • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required


    Experience

    • 3years of Phlebotomy experience required
    • 2 years in an acute care hospital setting required
    • 2 years of working with a Laboratory Analyzer (Consideration given for variation in the years of experience as long as total years is five years or greater) required


    Licenses and Certifications

    • CPT - State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician required or
    • CPTII - State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II required
