    Description

    Our elite global Financial Services client is seeking to recruit a Credit Analyst to join their Municipal/Public Finance team to analyze new transaction credit risk and provide ongoing surveillance across multiple asset classes - municipal bonds, public utilities, not-for-profit healtcare, public education, etc.

    Responsibilities:

    • Analyze new transaction credit risk and provide ongoing surveillance across multiple asset classes - municipal bonds, public utilities, not-for-profit healtcare, public education, etc.
    • Manage the full lifecycle credit evaluation process
    • Participate in meetings with debt issuer senior management
    • Monitor and surveill existing transactions and report on any changes in credit exposure
    • Review and analyze financial statements, legal documentation and related transaction information and prepare comprehensive reports and credit memos highlighting analysis
    • Write credit reports and author market commentary on new and existing transactions highlighting market trends and credit opinions
    • Work in a proactive manner with little supervision
    • Attend and participate in industry events and conferences
    • Assist in refining internal credit analysis methodologies

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 2+ years of municipal or public finance or credit experience at a bank, bond guarantor, research consultancy, rating agency or related financial services firm
    • Ambitious, driven, collaborative and motivated with strong critical thinking skills
    • Ability to thrive in a flat/lean organization with little supervision
    • Abilityand desire to cover multiple asset classes across municipal and public finance
    • Willingness to learn and be mentored by senior team members
    • Strong interest in writing and publishing credit commentary and industry research papers
    • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally and participate in industry conferences and events
    • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
    • Advanced communication and business writing skills
