    The Retirement Analytics team for Protective Life supports our Retirement Product Strategy and Development teams and leadership by delivering insights, surfacing trends, and producing analysis to help leadership identify the right actions to engage.

    This role will work to prioritize analytic intake, drive to develop key business insights, and collaborate with the Product team to design data-supported solutions to business problems.

    This role reports to the Director of Retail Analytics, and will have constant interaction with the Chief Product Officer and their leadership team.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Lead the function of product performance insights and reporting for our suite of Annuity products
    • Deliver reports and insights with various tools (i.e. Excel, Power BI, etc.) Facilitate and lead regular performance & insights discussions with product and sales leadership
    • Utilize technology and team expertise to create and devise solutions to business problems and opportunities
    • Govern intake requests and lead projects to create/enhance/modify current reporting output
    • Build and maintain relationships with key operations, product, business, and IT/data partners throughout the organization to drive forward initiatives and projects
    • Responsible for ongoing development of the function and maturation of product reporting and analytics sophistication.

    • Immediate ownership of the Fixed and Variable Annuity Product management data analytics programs, with additional programs to follow

    REQUIRED SKILLS:


    • Advanced Excel Skills (inclusive of data connection, power pivot/power query)
    • SQL Proficiency
    • Microsoft Power BI Skills (Demonstrates basic understanding of data modeling/flows; report/dashboard building)
    • Effective Communication Skills, Oral and Written
    • Extremely Detail Oriented and Strong Organization Skills
    • Familiarity with the insurance industry and annuity products
    • Ability to engage with knowledgeable and experienced subject matter experts / executives to offer timely feedback with insights

    EXPERIENCE:


    • 4-6 years experience in technical/computational/analytics role within a large corporation
    • Experience in presenting complicated information to senior level management
    • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and modeling a plus
    • Experience with Statistical Analysis (ie. Regression, Experiment Structuring, etc.) a plus
    • Practical Familiarity with Data Science a plus

    EDUCATION:


    • Bachelors in Business, Finance, Analytics, Economics or Mathematics
    • Graduate course work and industry related education a plus
