    We are currently partnered with an organization in the Orange County area seeking an eager and motivated Procurement Specialist As a Procurement Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to oversee daily procurement activities and manage inventory levels to support production and maintain adequate stock. You will ensure smooth operations and effective communication with suppliers and internal teams. Your role will focus on optimizing inventory management, minimizing waste, and fostering positive supplier relationships.

    *This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule (4 days in office).

    Core Duties:

    ? Analyze demand using various tools and methods; analyze data, compile reports and document purchasing requirements to support production at several manufacturing facilities

    ? Set-up part numbers for ingredients, packaging, and finished goods in the ERP system. Provide Accounting with required information pertaining to each type of inventory being set up in the system

    ? Confer with production planners and inventory data to determine purchasing needs. Manage safety stock based on supplier lead times and raw materials burn rate. Maintain "buffer" inventory for certain difficult to source ingredients as directed by senior management

    ? Develop positive on-going long-term relationships with suppliers and comans through high-touch and clear communication

    ? Research pricing information and compare full-in landed costs and appropriately interpret quotations

    ? Generate purchase orders based on documented demand requirements or PO requisitions; obtain appropriate approvals from Procurement or other department heads in order to execute and document purchases

    ? Ensure that all pending POs (quantity, price and date) are confirmed within 72 hours of issuance.

    ? Contact each vendor with requests for information regarding price, availability, quality and documentation

    ? Coordinate development of packaging components, including initial design, die line development

    ? Prepare purchase orders in relation with corporate policies and standards, while meeting strict deadlines, and properly conveying standards and demands to suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal customers

    ? Schedule and coordinate supplier pick-ups and maintain ETAs for open orders

    ? Manage inbound logistics of raw materials, ingredients, packaging and production supplies moving inbound. Assure on-time delivery and proactive communication of all exceptions to all affected parties

    ? Reconcile open PO report for accuracy, past due items, accounting errors, receiving status, and complete purchasing cycle closure in appropriate

    What we're looking for:

    ? 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing or Buyer role

    ? Experience in working in (CPG) or food manufacturing industry is a big plus

    ? Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required

    ? Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) by (APICS) or other certified institution is a plus

    ? Strong organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and a dedication to accuracy

    ? Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability

    ? Ability to gain respect, trust, and rapport through relationship-building skills

    ? Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and ERP Systems

    ? General knowledge and prior experience (QuickBooks, Dynamic GP, MAS, SAGE, NetSuite).

    ? Strong problem-solving skills; with ability to be a decision maker as well as contributor
