- Hiring, supervising, training and managing payroll accountants
- Overseeing the end-to-end payroll process, including data collection, timekeeping and payroll distribution
- Ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing payroll transactions for all employees
- Collaborating with HR and Finance Departments to gather necessary information for payroll processing
- Staying updated on federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations affecting the organization;
- Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and other relevant payroll-related legislation
- Preparing and submitting payroll tax filings and reports
- Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll records for all employees
- Preparing and generating payroll reports for management review
- Conducting regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance
- Providing guidance and support to employees on payroll matters
- Collaborating with other departments to address payroll-related issues and implement improvements
- Coordinating with benefits administrators to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits deductions and contributions
- Collaborating with HR to implement and communicate changes in benefits packages
- Conducting training sessions for employees on payroll-related matters
- Staying informed about industry best practices and recommend improvements to payroll processes
- Utilizing and maintaining payroll software systems for efficient and accurate payroll processing
- Implementing and improving payroll-related processes and systems as needed
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Human Resources or a related field required
- Master's degree in Accounting or a related field highly preferred
- 7 years' experience in Accounting or fiscal experience in a related field required
- Medical/dental/vision for part- and full-time employees (organization pays up to 90% of employee's premiums; prorated for part-time)
- Alternating Fridays off (every Friday off beginning July 2024)
