Description
New York based women's swimwear company is looking for a Product Development Assistant to join an established team, working on private label/owned brand product for retailers.
Monday-Thursday in office; Friday WFH or in office as needed.Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of all product associated with the brands
Effectively communicate and collaborate with all cross functional teams throughout the development process and into production, including designers, technical teams, production and color specialists.
Assist with fabric sourcing requests and work with mills on fabric development, lab dip & strike-off requests, trim development, and testing requirements for quality and color.
Assist in requesting and following up on sample requests with overseas factories.
Assist in creating and negotiation of the brand T&A calendar with factories and cross functional partners.
Own and maintain various processes required by the brand
Qualifications of Product Development Assistant:
Effective verbal and written communication
Detail oriented, organized and punctual
Able to quickly learn and take on new responsibilities
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to adapt to changing task
Able to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
Positive and open approach to work and challenges
Working knowledge of retail costing and negotiations
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
1-2 years of industry experience.
Experience related to product development required
Experience in swimwear a plus
Bachelor's degree
