    Position Description

We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer with experience developing great user experiences with mobile apps and using modern technologies. We are in the process of building a team which can support our customer facing mobile app. This app interacts with our smart grill leveraging Tuya SDK with MQTT services. The app is built running on PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Firestore. The main area of focus for this position is enhancing and maintaining middle tier with & Typescript, and Tuya SDK with MQTT services. Additionally, this role will support several front-end developers. The ability to learn quickly, a passion for picking up new ideas and technologies as well as the communication skills to share these concepts with other team members is essential.

    This role can be in-person (Marietta, GA), hybrid, or remote. Some in-person training will involve travel to Evans, GA HQ during the first 2 months of employment.

    Responsibilities

    • Writing code, providing estimates, technical specifications, source control and unit testing
    • Collaborate with the team to deliver quality code; participate in design brainstorming sessions, technical design reviews and functional walkthroughs
    • Provide technical support for customer production issue
    • Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
    • Develop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements
    • Coordinate cross-functionally to insure project meets business objectives and compliance standards
    • Support test and deployment of new products and features
    • Participate in code reviews

    Qualifications

    • Experience developing backend applications using TypeScript/Node.JS with a focus on Tuya SDK with MQTT service and Pulsar.
    • Experience with PostgreSQL, and Firestore
    • Ability and desire to do great software engineering: You're doing it now, and your background shows you will pick up quickly what you have not already learned
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a professional team: Years of experience as a software engineer would be an easy way to check this box, but not the only way
    • Experience with Swift, Jetpack compose, and Java is a plus
    • Experience with Git or other source control systems; and mobile DevOps
    • B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is desired
    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
    • 3+ years of relevant work experience
    • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
