    POSITION TITLE:
    Math Facilitator (PK-12) DEPARTMENT/


    LOCATION:
    Curriculum & Instructional Support / Instructional Resource Center (IRC)


    STATUS:
    Certified, Exempt - Contract


    POSITION SUMMARY:
    This position facilitates PK-12 math curriculum development and implementation and effective math instruction. The Math Facilitator works collaboratively with the Chief Academic Officer and the Director of Curriculum & Instructional Support.


    PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Lead PK-12 math curriculum development, resource selection, and implementation process Coordinate the instructional program aligned with the Mathematical Kansas College and Career Readiness Standards Facilitate Mathematics Professional Development PK-12 Supports the vision of Learning Services and the Olathe Public Schools.

    Creates positive relationships with stakeholders and can communicate with teachers, administrators, students, and the Learning Services team Coordinate a comprehensive math program, including math competitions Coordinate district math interventions and mathematics MTSS PK-12 Facilitate summer curriculum and instruction projects as needed/directed Perform other duties as assigned


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    Kansas Teaching License Master's Degree or above Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience working with K-12 math curriculum, instruction, resource selection, development, school improvement, and new staff REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,


    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills Research-based knowledge in effective teaching with an emphasis on rigorous math instruction with an intense focus on college and career readiness Research-based knowledge regarding the math standards measured on various assessments such as, but not limited to, FastBridge, Kansas Assessment Program Quarterly Benchmark Assessments, ACT, and Mastery Connect Have a strong understanding of the MTSS process, with specific focus on Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III (intensification) instruction and use the data to problem solve and determine needs for each tier Skills providing and facilitating professional development sessions Ability to work as a team member to complete tasks, problem solve, reach consensus, and collaborate Excellent customer service skills High degree of motivation, responsibility and confidentiality Demonstrated ability in compiling, organizing, and analyzing data Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced work environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.)

    Ability to self-initiate areas of opportunity, make recommendations for improvement, and follow up as necessary to achieve desired results


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    This position requires the performance of light work
    • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
    The position includes occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed in generally hazard free indoor environment and a clean atmosphere.
