    SUMMARY:


    The Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring the site operations meet the safety, quality, and efficiency expectations of the company.

    This is done by analyzing site performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing the solutions with the site teams. The Process Engineer works cross-functionally to balance day-to-day operations assistance/troubleshooting with achieving continuous improvement wins.

    This balance ensures our organization can deliver on its core competency to our customers, and at the same time, improve our safety, quality, costs, and capabilities year after year for sustainable success.


    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyze current operations to identify opportunities for profit enhancement
    • Design and implement projects to improve productivity, yield, labor efficiency, and operating costs
    • Lead the identification and elimination of losses resulting in improvements in costs and quality
    • Foster an environment of continuous improvement through analytical skills and collaboration
    • Assist site teams to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
    • Serve as Project Manager to scope, design, and execute site capital improvements
    • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to solve operational issues and implement improvement projects
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures that drive consistency and improvement
    • Ensure plant processes adhere to expected safety and quality standards and close gaps where necessary
    • Coordinate and support R&D for new startup/trial/sample runs and optimization activities
    • Support the site with the development, execution, and alignment of company ESG initiatives
    • Perform other related duties as necessary

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • This position should expect to spend a significant amount of time on the floor, with plant employees and processes
    • Travel:
    although the position is largely based at the Eustis, FL facility; the employee should expect occasional travel to assist with opportunities at other sites
    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Four (4) year B.S. degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical) required
    • 2 years of experience in Industry, preferably in a process-heavy, food manufacturing facility
    • Familiarity with batch and continuous processing: filtration techniques, extraction, drying, and product packaging
    • Experience with MS Office applications, particularly Excel
    • Experience with data historians and CAD software is a plus
    • Understanding of lean manufacturing and a strong focus on continuous improvement required. Six Sigma Green belt desirable.
