    We are looking for Family Support Staff to work in our growing McKeesport shelter location. We are looking for someone to work Sunday's 3-11pm. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about helping families The Family Emergency Shelter keeps families together and safe until housing and resources are secured. The ideal candidate for this role is compassionate and dedicated to improving the lives of our homeless families.

    We envision our top candidate will understand the needs of families and can build a rapport with families to help coach them toward their goals. Successful candidates will need to be comfortable with a fast-paced culture that often has changing priorities. The ability to change directions quickly and understanding the sense of urgency that exists in our organization is a must. Candidates with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to use trauma informed practices to move toward positive outcomes would be an ideal fit.     Key Objectives of this Role:
    • Provides quality service delivery to homeless families through effective case management and program routines.
    • Works closely with the team and families in identifying appropriate housing opportunities, resources and all case management domains.
    • Provides training to families in regards to different housing opportunities, budgeting, maintaining a household, and other duties that are deemed necessary.
    • Works collaboratively with the organizational team, as well as with representatives from Allegheny County Department of Human Services, City of Pittsburgh Housing Authority, Allegheny County Housing Authority, and McKeesport Housing Authority and community housing programs in Allegheny County.
    Qualifications

    Skills and Qualifications:
    • Commitment to and passionate about serving homeless populations
    • Experience with HUD, HAB and HMIS strongly preferred
    • Associates in human services or related field preferred, and experience working with children, youth or families. Consideration and preference give for those with lived experience.
    • ACT 33/34 and FBI Clearances
    • Random drug testing may be conducted to maintain a safe and drug-free workplace
