    Description
    Scope/Purpose of the Position

    The product and process specialist will work with R&D and production in proper monitoring of product specifications and controlling the ingredients and the product we are doing on the line are perfect.

    Controlling if our equipment is always precise and if they work perfectly.

    Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions
    Assist production supervisors in maintaining control of product quality through problem solving and issuing corrective actions for product deviations
    Communicate with affected departments in the event of a deviation caused by actions made to stabilize or improve product
    Control and maintain the management of change process for issuing temporary or permanent changes to recipes to maintain product quality and control
    Control and maintain operator manuals and training documents relating to process improvements
    Regularly communicate with production and quality on status and priorities of projects to improve product quality and control
    Communicate with the other departments for the various issues happen on the line (Production, Quality, Maintenance...)
    Assist in improving the product and system knowledge of the operators to help promote product and equipment awareness and increase strength in the production team
    Collect and analyze data to aid in improvements to product quality
    Work closely with R&D to stay informed on the status of new product development and improvement projects for existing products
    Organize meetings between R&D and operations departments to facilitate the transition of products from R&D to production
    Help organize and run test batches with R&D as needed as part of new product development process
    Assist with testing and implementing new ingredients and suppliers

    Adjust or make the settings for the new product or the new machines to ensure production is stabilized on new products before fully releasing the product to production.

    Control and improve the new product implementation process
    Work closely with Bakerly Barn's suppliers to help ensure consistency of ingredients

    General
    Follows and promotes all Bakerly Barn's GMP's
    Uphold SQF and Food Safety standards
    Follows and promotes all Bakerly Barn's safety policies
    Perform other duties as requested by the R&D Manager and Production Managers

    Job Qualification Requirements
    Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or Industrial Engineering
    2 to 5 years of experience in the food industry
    Data analysis experience
    Knowledge of the baking process, packing, and quality
    Flexibility to work across multiple shifts
    Teamwork mentality
    Interest in the product
    Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
    Understanding of safe work practices, safety & environmental regulations
    Strong organization skills
    Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
    Strong problem-solving skills
    Ability to multitask
    Ability to assess, prioritize and resolve plant issues
    Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 50lbs
