    Job Purpose



    Assist EH&S manager, safety systems, overall environmental, health and safety for the entire plant. This includes everything related to health, safety, wellness, environmental, ergonomics, contractors, and plant security.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities



    Self confident and possess excellent people skills.

    Articulate and able to work in a team environment.

    Experienced training individuals and groups on safety and health issues.

    Detail oriented and a multi-tasker.

    Problem solver and have negotiation conflict resolution skills.

    Comfortable in a manufacturing environment working on shop personnel, operations managers, supervisors and union officials, if applicable.

    Flexible schedule willing to work across shifts occasionally to assure that a safety management presence occurs across all shifts.

    Must have basic knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


    • Integrate safety and health culture within all operations and at all levels of shop floor and management teams.
    • Liaison with EH&S personnel to make certain that all necessary H&S protocols are implemented and to help with H&S training and the utilization of other H&S resources supplied by DRMS.
    • Develop processes to help assure that proper safety and health provisions are incorporated into all jobs performed at the facility, employing techniques of hazard analysis, job safety analyses and safe job procedures.
    • Prepare us for OHSAS implementation.
    • Develop an accident and near miss investigation program. Track near missies and lost time accidents to determine injury trends and identify root cause with corrective action reviews.
    • Facilitate new hire orientations and conduct annual safety & health training.
    • Participate in the safety team meetings and assist in the following areas: Safety team should be trained on hazard analysis, regulatory compliance standards, machine guarding, ergonomics, accident investigation and other basic H&S matters pertaining to the facility like Lock/Out Tag/Out.
    • Maintain PPE program
    • Prepare and track lock out tag out
    • Developing and managing an effective value-added transitional return to work program.
    • Assist in identify jobs that can support work restrictions.
    • Work with Regional Environmental Manager to ensure we are complying with regulations and laws
    • Prepare safety presentation materials for monthly employee meetings (5-Minute Safety Talks).
    • Assist with new hire safety orientation.
    • Provide insight and input to appropriate engineering personnel to identify solutions to repetitive injuries and/or develop solutions to workplace ergonomic improvements.
    • Coordinate unannounced safety audits with risk service consultants, including annual air quality studies.
    • Support the company's Emergency Response Plan and schedule unannounced annual drills
    • Manage H&S suggestion program. Tie suggestion program into other H&S incentive programs that are developed to encourage a safety culture throughout the plant.
    Education Required/Preferred:

    Bachelor's Degree in H&S or related sciences
