    Job Purpose:
    The primary responsibility will be direct support of Mi-Jack Products.

    Candidate will support both the tactical and strategic goals and objectives through the implementation of lean principles of manufacturing, documentation and improvement of manufacturing methods, implementation of capital equipment and advancement of manufacturing technology throughout Operations.

    Creation of Process Plans, tool design, gage planning, fixturing concepts, prove-out and troubleshooting of processes, cost estimates, time standards, technical support of shop floor, specification, justification and implementation of capital equipment, development of new processes, implementation of lean concepts on the Manufacturing floor, and support Design for manufacturability efforts.


    Essential Functions:

    • Minimum of 10 years of automation experience.
    • Champion implementation of automated production systems on the factory floor ensuring high utilization and return on investment.
    • Write and maintain process routers and work center instructions
    • Lean Visual Factory process and initiatives
    • Leads Small Group Improvement Activity Teams
    • Design concept tooling and fixtures for new process and parts
    • Suggest changes to current product with approval from Product Engineer
    • Engineering change control and implementation at the plant floor level
    • Develop manufacturing plans to implement continuous improvement projects
    • Support and / or facilitate 5S and point Kaizen activities for Operations
    • Perform cost engineering and standard analysis on products and processes
    • Develop capital plans for introducing or replacing machinery and equipment
    • Provide make versus buy analyses on products and processes
    • Perform capacity and factory layout analyses
    • Audit and Approve ECRs/ECNs for new product and for current product and process
    • Develop new processes and propose new machinery and equipment to support cost reduction, productivity, and throughput improvements
    • Understand and implement Lean principles and practices in all manufacturing decisions. Develop 5-Why root cause analysis environment
    • Coordinate with Operations to define best practices and resolve manufacturing issues
    • Participate in and conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) On the Fly and JHA Gold assessments as required to detect and correct potential safety issues on the shop floor
    • Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries; Assist in delivering required training to ensure that all coworkers have the necessary skills to perform their jobs properly and safely.
    • Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal & external).
    • Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Companywide policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications Guidelines

    Experience/Training/Education:

    Required:
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field with experience


    Physical and Environmental Elements:
    Requires working in office, factory and outdoor environments. Includes intermittent, elevated noise levels and potential hazards common in a fabrication and/or fabrication shop.
