- The Food Service Worker at Sumter Correctional Institution supervises inmates to ensure that meals and food items are prepared as per production plans.
- In this position, you will train workers in methods of performing duties and assign work to enhance operational efficiency.
- Responsibilities also include maintaining facility sanitation and personal safety by adhering to all standards and regulations.
- Adhere to and maintain preparation and production guidelines according to Aramark standards.
- Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
- Ensure timely meal service and compliance with Aramark guidelines.
- Participate in meal preparation and service.
- Direct inmates in the use of Aramark recipes and proper cooking procedures.
- Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are met.
- Obtain accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
- Adhere to security policies and procedures.
- Ensure storage areas are secured.
- Manage work and sanitation schedules.
- Assist in inventory management and food storage.
- Requisition orders as needed.
- Participate in meal preparation, storage, and assembly.
- Follow food handling and storage procedures.
- Follow HACCP policies for food handling.
- Must be over 18 years old.
- Minimum of one (1) year of food prep or related work.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience interacting with inmates is a plus.
- Ability to motivate and supervise team members in a correctional work environment.
- Must obtain a food safety certification.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Must be able to follow safety procedures and policies.
- Physical demands include lifting, bending, and extended standing.
- Uniform and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
