    Senior University Counsel
    Office of the General Counsel, Stanford, California, United States

    Compliance Legal

    • Immediate opening for a full-time attorney in the Office of the General Counsel at Stanford University.
    • This is a Senior University Counsel position and reports to the Deputy General Counsel for Health Care.
    • Responsible for providing legal counsel to the Stanford University School of Medicine (SOM) research operations.
    • Supports research operations across all Stanford School of Medicine departments and institutes for sponsored research.
    • Supports the growth of impactful, collaborative research in the broader Stanford Medicine network and community.
    • Expertise in drafting and negotiating research agreements, complying with federal grants, privacy laws, and regulations.
    • Must have ten years of relevant experience and be a member of the California Bar or able to become one shortly.
    • Requirements for excellence in academic credentials, writing, analytical and communication skills.
    • Live in the Bay Area and be in the office in person for at least three days per week.

    The final candidate will need to successfully pass a background check to be considered for this position.
